University Hospital, Umeå (Sweden) and ONCOlog Medical sign an agreement to evaluate the benefits of the PatLog™ patient logistics solution.

June 17, 2011

ONCOlog Medical AB and the University Hospital in Umeå, in the North of Sweden, have signed an agreement to study the benefits of PatLog™, a patient logistics solution, in one of their treatment rooms at the new clinic.

The purpose is to identify improvements in workflow and patient experience by PatLog before, during and after treatment in external radiotherapy.

The PatLog™ patient logistics solution consists of unique tools for immobilization of radiotherapy patients on the treatment table plate with a reclining device outside the treatment room and thereafter transporting the patients in treatment position on an auto-controlled carrier into the treatment room.

The PatLog™ patient logistics solution has been developed in its first application for proton therapy in co-operation with the Belgian company IBA (Ion Beam Applications) but is also applicable for traditional radiotherapy with linear accelerators. PatLog has been installed in Essen at WPE and will be installed in Prague, Dimitrovgrad and in the Skandion clinic.
